On Wednesday, we celebrated Diwali , the Indian Festival of Lights. We read a book, looked at Rangoli, colored our own Rangoli, and made our very own diyas, lanterns!
We went outside to make some fall observations. We looked at the tree we picked out in summer and noted all the fall changes. Students drew and colored pictures of our tree in fall!
Today the school honored our veterans with a lovely assembly! Kindergarten made cards for those who came. We were even visited by Mrs. Bombaci, a former teacher of mine and Becky Harkin, the teacher of our buddy classroom! She shared a little bit about how our cards and projects get to the soldiers oveesseas and how much joy they bring! We even got to see how her amazing service dog works in action! The dog is deaf and knows commands through sign language! The kids really enjoyed her visit!!
