Reading Workshop
This week, students learned how to activate picture, snap word, and sound power!
How to help: Read a page or two to your child and see if they can continue to read the rest of the book.
Writing Workshop
This week, students were writing show and tell about the places they go alot or the places they like to go.
How to help: Discuss places that you have gone. Ie beach, store, Disney, New York etc.
Word Work
This week, we learned how to write and make the sound for the letters e and r.
E - ed /e/
R - rat /r/
How to help: You can practice naming all the letters below, making the sounds, and writing the lowercase letter.
Taught letters: t, b, f, n, m, i, u, c, o, a, g, d, s, e, r
Taught sight words: a, is, my, I, see, like, look, at, the
How to help: Read and write sight words!
Math Workshop
This week, students learned how to draw a picture like a mathematician to represent a number story. Student also learned how to show their thinking by making a space or drawing a line between the 2 parts.
How to help:
Count to 30
Count backward from 20
Count on or backward from a different number other than 1
Write numbers 1 -5
Count a group of objects
Second Steps
Each Tuesday, Mrs, Nelson is teaching us a new skill. Papers go home so you can be informed of what we are working on in class. You do not need to complete and return the activities that go with it.
