Mrs. Aithal’s Room 13 News
Reading Workshop
I hope you have been enjoying listening to you child “reading” those old favorite storybooks. Students may ask you to read to them or they may want to “read” the story to you by looking at the pictures and remembering how the story goes. Thank you so much for returning those books each night after you read them!
Writing Workshop
Students are working on telling true stories about the things that happened to them or the things they did. You can practice telling these stories at home so students can remember details about the things that they did. Students are working on adding details to their drawing that include the where, who was there, and what happened.
Word Work
This week, we learned how to write and make the sound for the letters i and u. You can practice naming these letters, making the sounds, and writing the lowercase letter. As we add more sight words to our list, you can practice reading these words too!
I - itch /i//
U - up /u/
Taught letters: t, b, f, n, m, i, u
Taught sight words: a, is, my
Math Workshop
Students are learning how to count by touching each object in a group and sliding them to be sure that objects were not missed or counted twice. Students have noticed that the quantity of a set of objects does not change when items are rearranged.
