I am Mrs. Burt and I am so excited to start this year with you! I have spent some time this summer planning out our year together. We are going to have so much fun!!
But first, here's a little about me. I am thrilled to return to teaching Kindergarten after teaching the last 3 years in second grade. This will be my 21st year of teaching and my 11th year in Kindergarten. I have 2 fantastic daughters, Rachel, age 7, who will be in Mrs. Harkin's 2nd grade class and Ellen, age 6, who will be in Mrs. Blasiak's 1st grade class. It is so fun to have them here in the same school with me! You'll get to know them well, as I talk about them all the time! (Just like your parents talk about you when they're not with you!!) I have 2 dogs, Rodger and Millie, both Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I love to watch and play sports, especially golf, swimming and running. I love to garden as well, and I am so excited that we will have a Tower Garden in our classroom! You'll probably notice it when you come into the room. I can't wait to teach you how it works! We'll get to plant, grow and eat some yummy, and healthy, veggies this year!
I am looking forward to seeing all of you at our Open House on Tues 8/29 @ 2:30. We'll get to see the classroom, meet some of your new classmates and then head out to the playground for our Back to School Picnic. I hope you're able to make it!
