Columbus Day
Many years ago our oldest daughter loved to act and took several classes and was in many plays at Oddfellows Playhouse in Middletown. One year they prepared a play about Christopher Columbus. They made boats from heavy cardboard that they painted and using ropes they devised a way the actors could “wear” the boat and use it to navigate the stage. When the boat was on the ground, it looked very realistic! I always felt it was pretty clever and fun!!! I kept the boat (which by now is falling apart) and most years I take it out and let the Kindergarteners pretend they are in one of Christopher Columbus’ ships!!!
HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY!!!
