Learning About the Fun RunOn Monday afternoon, February 24 the whole school had a meeting in the cafeteria to learn all about the Fun Run that our whole school will be participating in in early March!!!! The kids got excited to get pledges to raise money for our school and to have fun running laps at school!!! During their lunchtimes the children will watch videos to learn about positive character traits and how they can practice them in their lives!!!
Observing Our PlantsOn Friday, February 21 we observed the plants we have been growing, compared them and drew pictures of them! Plant A got sun and water. Plant B got sun and no water. Plant C did not get sun or water. Plant D got no sun, but did get water. The children made good observations and worked hard to draw their pictures like a scientist would!!!
Valentine’s Day PartyAt the end of the day after physical education we had a fun Valentine’s Day party!!! Anthony’s family brought in delicious ice cream and lots of toppings and Michael’s family brought in fancy iced cookies!!!! The kids had fun making their sundaes and eating their treats and enjoying their friends!!! A BIG THANK YOU to all the parents who came to our party, who sent or brought things in, and all those who set up and helped during the party and cleaned up after!!!! Everyone had fun!!!!
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!! Celebrating Valentine’s DayOn Friday, February 14 we celebrated Valentine’s Day in our classroom. First we made a special card for our parents! Next, we made a heart valentine holder to put our class valentines in!!! The girls and boys put their valentine surprises in their classmates’ holders and then took them home to open and enjoy!!!!

Meeting With Our 2nd Grade BuddiesOn Thursday afternoon February 13, our class visited Mrs. Carapezzi’s class. Their class shared the stories they had written during their Writers’ Workshop!!! After they read their stories, the second graders read other books to their kindergarten buddies!!!
Celebrating Senara’s BirthdayTuesday, February 11 was Senara’s 6th birthday! Her mom came in to help celebrate!! First Senara’s mom read Happy Birthday Moon by Frank Asch!!! Then we all sang to Senara and enjoyed delicious Rice Krispie treats with m and ms and sprinkles!!! THANK YOU TO SENARA’S MOM FOR COMING AND READING AND BRINGING THE DELICIOUS TREATS!!!!
HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY, SENARA!!!!!! More About Our 100th Day of KindergartenWe also make fruit loop necklaces - counting groups of 10 fruit loops on each of the 10 circles on their mat - and then counting by 10s to get to 100!!! A very old (maybe 100 years old!!!) student came to school that day!!! She kind of looks like Sadie!!! And we had students who wore special 100 day shirts that day!! Connor’s tee shirt says: On the playground is where I spent most on my days - 100 days of school!!! Mikayla’s homemade shirt has 100 stickers!!!
