After students read their books, they were asked to use the pattern and the ending to understand their books. Students thought about what the whole book was really saying. Readers then used their letter sound knowledge to read words on the page. We looked at ABC books to use the letter on the page as well as the picture to read the word.
Writing Workshop
As we continue to write true stories, talk about the things you do as a family to generate good story ideas. This week, students learned to use a checklist to make their stories even more powerful. Students began to look closer at the middle of words so they can hear and write more vowels.
