Reading Workshop
Students have begun their journey into reading conventionally! We have begun a new unit called Reading Super Powers. In this unit, students will learn many strategies to read new words. This week, students learned that they have pointer power. When reading, students need to use their finger to point to the words that they read.
Writing Workshop
Students also began a new unit in writing called Show and Tell. A separate letter will be going home to explain. Students will need to bring in an object for Monday.
Word Work
This week, we learned how to write and make the sound for the letters a and g. You can practice naming these letters, making the sounds, and writing the lowercase letter. Through practicing using our pointing power in reading, we learned 3 new sight words this week: I, see, like. As we add more sight words to our list, you can practice reading these words too!
A - apple - /a/
G - game /g/
Taught letters: t, b, f, n, m, i, u, c, o, a, g
Taught sight words: a, is, my, I, see, like
