What w terrific start we have had in Kindergarten! After getting to know each other and learning the rules and routines of our class, we were very busy learning and having fun! We learned about private and partner reading, learned about positional words you completing an “obstacle course” and practiced making our first and last names with our new name folders. Here are some pictures from the week! Check out this week’s “Ask Me About” to see what else we’ve been doing!

Hello and welcome to Kindergarten! We are going to have so much fun this year!! This is a place where you can come to view pictures and blog posts that help you have a window into our very busy days in Kindergarten! I will also post a weekly "Ask Me About" that is a quick overview of what we've learned about that week. This will be emailed home weekly as well, but if it gets lost of if you want to refer back to one from a previous week, this is where to find it! Feel free to check some from last year out on the Archives to the right.
For now, here's a link to my back to school letter that tells a little about me and gives some details about the start of school. I can't wait to dive into this year together! Hope you all had a great summer!! Katie What an amazing day we had! Many thanks to Mr. B for another fabulous field day!! Thanks, too, to the PTO for the yummy ice cream truck and the sill assembly!!
As part of our Science unit, we are learning about the needs of plants and animals. What better way to learn first hand what an animal needs by caring for it for a week? We were lucky enough to have Tippy the Tortoise come and visit us from the Ray of Light Farm in East Haddam. Ask me why he is called a “Red-Footed African Tortoise”!
We are so grateful to have the love of our moms! What a wonderful feeling to be surrounded by so many special moms, grandmas, aunties, dads and other special guests! The kids were so proud of their muffins and we hope you enjoy the keepsake keychains! Enjoy the pictures below from our day!
What an amazing Cultural Arts performance today! We got to see Hansel and Gretel performed by marionettes! We learned about different types of puppets, watched a great show and got to ask lots of questions I. The end. Can you believe they make all their puppets by hand?
